We planned to spend Christmas in the beautiful
island of Samal, Davao City. We stayed in “Aloha Resort” owned by the Villejos, a semi private beach resort with all the amenities for a short family vacation and yet, not very expensive!!!.
Family time has been close to nil with all the activities we and our children are involved in, plus the tv and the internet. It was truly wonderful to just talk to each other, play volleybal with a beach ball and sing. Of course, Norman, Mickey and Marrise did most of the singing with Jared joining in once in a while. We also had our Christmas Family Home Evening with everyone participating and playing the all time favorite charade.
Close to midnight we started hearing fireworks and it surprised us since we have been used to the quiet Christmases and New Years of Davao.
