A food festival was going on at the NCCC Mall ground floor and I was lining up for my avocado shake. Suddenly, I over-heard a nice-looking lady, who obviously came from work, loudly tell her companion that she would love to have an avocado shake. But it was not good for her because she is hypertensive. What do you think? Is it Good or Bad?? please comment on what you think. I am going out on a date with my sweetheart of 23 years and will return to continue on this topic.
I have loved eating avocado for as long as I can remember and I wish to establish the truth about this wonderful fruit. The Avocado California Festival is celebrated each October in Carpinteria, California. Why would such a fruit play a central role in a festival? Simply because it is beneficial to everybody even the hypertensives. Outlined in Avocados contribute to a Healthy Lifestyle are the health benefits of Avocado:
- Avocado is low in carbs. The fat in Avocado is monounsaturated fat which increases the HDL (good) cholesterol.
- Avocado contains more folate than any other fruit. Folate promotes healthy cell and tissue development.
- Avocado and banana are the richest source of Potassium. The result of the third National Health and Nutritional Examination Survey (NHANES III) states that that adequate potassium intake from fruits and vegetables can lower blood pressure.
Will you pass up the next avocado shake. !!! Not me
